It has been an interesting couple of days for sure. I have not done much of anything especially around the house. I worked so hard and so long last week I am burnt out.
Saturday night was the StockingPals reveal and we had a great time. It started at 6:30 and the last 3 left my house at 2:45 am. What a great night with some of my most favorite people in the world. We laughed so much, I had a headache from laughing. We had food galore and presents like you would not believe. Here are the pile of gifts that ended up being mine.
Jill had my name!! It was like I had won the lottery! literally. She is the absolute most generous person in the world. She got me some great stuff. Here is the unopened pile, well some of it.
Let me see if I can tell you about some of it. The pink with the christmas tree is a beautiful sweater. Under the sweater that you can't see is a fantastic pair of pajamas. They are so soft, off white with cardinals. The polka dots are a kitchen set with apron, mitts, hand towel. The album at the bottom that says Believe she made me. The 12 x 12 frame is handmade by Jill. What you can't see thats on the mantle is a gorgeous wreath that she made also. There was the offical White House Historical Societies ornament that is made every year. I got cowtails, m and m's with my name on them, Girandelli chocolates (2) and 2 packages of dried beans from Virginia and DC. I had a plaque that said I'd Rather Be In My Pajamas, a calendar of country saying of which one is Butter My Butt and Call Me a Biscuit!. I have an "L" ornament and an Angel ornament, which I think is quite fitting. I got a JDRobb book, a crossword puzzle book and a christmas picture frame. She got me a Slice carrying bag and a cartridge case. She got me a Bind It All carrying case. There are 2 different wooden boxes, one filled with gift cards. I got chipboard and a Tervis Tumbler and vintage gift tags. Do you see my Boyd's Bear? I am telling you I can't even list it all. Lets just say "it ain't about the presents" but damn it was fun! Holey moley that woman can shop and I was very fortunate to be the recipient of her generosity.
Jill thank you again- if I left something out I surely didn't mean to. I love it all. Here is the group shot
One has decided not to stay in and Jayne will be joining us next year.
Today was the day from hell. I put too much mayonnaise in my tuna and didn't have another can of tuna. I had to eat it like that. Then I was using Jimmy's truck to take Willa to her therapy session. Jimmy was taking my van out to the brake man to do my back brakes. When she came out of therapy I didn't back out of the parking space far enough and put his front tire in the curb thing and couldn't get it out. I called and told him. I wanted to call the roadside service to get it pulled out but he wanted to come. I told him we needed a damn wrecker. Anyway he came, 45 minutes. Sure enough we have to call a wrecker. They tell me 1 hr and 20 minutes. Damn damn damn. 45 minutes wasted already. Luckily it only took the wrecker 40 minutes to get there and 10 minutes to do exactly what I told him would have to be done. Don't ask me how I got the tire in the curb. A man that works there says it happens everyday somewhere in that parking lot. He said with a small car 2 men can pick it up enough to get it on the curb, but not that big ol' honkin truck of his.
It was amusing, well a bit later, that the girl that took my call with the roadside service tried to tell me the truck had 4 wheel drive and I should be able to get it out of the curb. So I had to raise my voice slightly, and tell her the wheels spin when I put it in reverse and I had been there an hour already, the damn truck wasn't moving. Who is she to tell me I can get it out and don't need a freakin wrecker?
Tomorrow keep Teresa and her family in your thoughts as they have the Celebration of Life for her mother in law. Love ya.
omg, what a day!! and you had willa in the truck with you the whole time??? oh my, that must have been a loooong wait... the question is... did you have your hook rug with you to work on??
i'm glad you finally had the truck pulled out and made it back home. did you need a pill after that? lol
tomorrow is another day and it will be a better one :)
peace & love.
